3. Responsibilities

Managing Director — The Managing Director holds overall accountability for the implementation and review of this policy. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all work is planned, risk assessed, and carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards

  • Refrain from commencing any task they do not consider safe or for which they have not been adequately briefed

4. Specific Risk Areas and Controls

Given the nature of Tresmontana’s operations, the following key risk areas have been identified and are actively managed:

Working at Height — All rope access operations are conducted in accordance with IRATA standards and the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Competent IRATA-certified personnel are used. Pre-task planning includes site-specific risk assessments, equipment inspection, and emergency rescue plans.

Offshore Operations — Work on offshore installations is conducted in compliance with client Permit to Work (PTW) systems, offshore safety cases, and relevant offshore legislation. All personnel hold current OPITO-approved offshore survival and medical certifications where required.

NDT Operations — NDT activities are conducted by PCN-certified personnel in accordance with applicable standards and procedures. Specific hazards including radiation (where applicable), confined spaces, and surface preparation chemicals are managed through site-specific risk assessments.

Lifting Equipment and LOLER Examinations — Examinations are conducted by LEEA-qualified engineers in compliance with LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998. Findings are documented in Thorough Reports of Examination and promptly communicated to clients.

Manual Handling — Manual handling risks are minimised through task planning and use of appropriate mechanical aids where available. Personnel are trained in safe manual handling techniques.

5. Risk Assessment and Method Statements

Tresmontana Ltd will ensure that a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is conducted prior to the commencement of all work activities. Method Statements will be prepared to communicate safe systems of work to all relevant personnel. These documents will be reviewed and updated whenever work conditions or scope change.

6. Incident Reporting and Investigation

All incidents, accidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences must be reported immediately to the Managing Director and, where applicable, to the client site representative. Records of all incidents will be maintained. Where required by law, incidents will be reported to the relevant enforcing authority under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR).

All incidents will be investigated to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

All personnel and subcontractors are encouraged to raise concerns, suggest improvements, and report hazards without fear of reprisal. Health and safety information will be communicated clearly before all site activities.

9. Policy Review
